The Viktoria Plzen squad erupted in celebration upon finding out that they’re spending the next few months going toe-to-toe with the best teams in Europe after yesterday’s Champions League draw.
The Champions League draw is always filled with intrigue, anticipation and excitement. While some teams hoped to land in an easy group, the players in the Czech club seemingly wanted anything but.
The underdog side is no stranger to the competition, having participated in the group stages on four separate occasions. Along the way, they’ve picked up victories over Bate Borisov, CSKA Moscow and Roma.
In addition, they’ve tangoed with some of the best teams on the planet, including Real Madrid and Manchester City.
However, they’ve yet to advance to the round of 16—a target that the supporters desperately want them to accomplish. But given the results of the draw, that looks like being a severely uphill task.
