WWE are already hinting at a TV return date for Charlotte Flair

WWE are seemingly already preparing for a return for Charlotte Flair, with the record-setting former SmackDown Women’s Champion set to step inside the ring again soon.

Flair was written off WWE television after losing her title at WrestleMania Backlash to Ronda Rousey. Rousey forced her to submit in an enthralling ‘I Quit’ match.

Charlotte Flair says “I Quit”

In the rematch of the pair’s duel at WrestleMania 38, Flair and Rousey put on a show. They used kendo sticks and chairs to inflict damage, and entertained in a match that was more of a brawl than a traditional wrestle.

After trading blows for some time, Rousey emerged victorious. She used a chair to add pressure to her armbar, which pushed Flair over the edge.

Flair could not get out of the armbar, which forced her to say the dreaded words: “I quit.”

After the match, WWE stated that the 36-year-old had suffered a fractured radius in the battle. However, fans believed there was a different reason for the decision to write her out.

Flair had recently confirmed her engagement to former WWE star Andrade El Idolo. Esteemed journalist Bryan Alvarez claimed that ‘The Queen’ was having time off to get married to Andrade. Their marriage was announced earlier this week.

Flair being written off also allows Rousey to flourish. The former UFC Champion is now the SmackDown Women’s Champion. She is already exploring new rivalries and storylines in Flair’s absence.

This would only make a future rematch between Rousey and Flair even more interesting when ‘The Queen’ returns.

Charlotte Flair to make WWE return?

WWE fans awaiting news on her comeback have now got an potentially intriguing update.

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion features prominently on the promotional poster for the SmackDown taping in Orlando, Florida, on July 15.

Moreover, she stars on the poster alongside Drew McIntyre. McIntyre appears to be the top star for this particular event.

SummerSlam will take place in Nashville on July 30. WWE could, therefore, be setting up Flair, as one of their top stars, for a significant storyline leading into the event.
