WWE considering main roster call-ups for four NXT stars

WWE are considering massive plans for four of the biggest superstars in NXT to make a splash on the big stage, according to reports.

The yellow brand has long been the proving ground for new and exciting talent to showcase their skills. From its inception in 2010, it’s become synonymous with breeding some of the world’s best wrestlers. NXT has undergone a few changes since then, but it has a reputation for producing top-quality wrestlers.

In its first year, NXT was responsible for developing The Nexus, spearheaded by Wade Barrett. They tore Monday Night Raw apart as they smashed everything in their sight.

The group featured several stars who would achieve big things in WWE, including Barrett, Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt – with the latter wrestling as Husky Harris at the time.

NXT has continued its momentum throughout the years and developed future Hall of Famers such as Becky Lynch, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and many more.

With WrestleMania 38 now over, attention has turned to the future. And according to reports, WWE are considering promoting four of the yellow brand’s top stars.

Which members of the WWE NXT stable look set for a big future?

Fightful Select (as per Wrestling News) have reported that WWE are planning to promote Imperium to the main roster, with SmackDown as their likely location. However, only Gunther and Marcel Barthel will reap the rewards of this news, as Fabian Aichner is staying where he is.

Gunther’s rise through the ranks has looked likely since his run in NXT UK. The Austrian dismantled every contender on the roster. His 870-day reign as the brand’s champion is the longest in history. He then moved to NXT, where he has carried on his momentum.

His tag partner, Barthel, has two impressive spells as the NXT Tag Team Championship holder.

In addition, the same source has reported that LA Knight has been pitched for a call-up to the main roster as a manager. He has proven himself as one of the best talkers in the business. And it seems like he could now finally has his chance to transfer his charisma to a much bigger audience.

Lastly, Raquel Gonzalez is also the subject of a main roster pitch. The former NXT Women’s Champion is one of the most destructive Superstars on the brand, standing at 6ft tall. Alongside Dakota Kai, she won the NXT Tag Team Championship at Stand & Deliver, but the pairing lost the titles the following Tuesday.
