Brian Urlacher got pranked… Israel Idonije played hilarious practical joke on the icon

The pair of football stars made many a fantastic memory during their time together in the NFL.

Israel Idonije pranked Brian Urlacher

The Chicago Bears have given their fans many incredible memories on the field. And in order for the team to perform well on game day, the players have to build a rapport through any means necessary, even if that means going down the route of hilarious practical jokes.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, Israel Idonije reminisced: “We used to play a game called ‘Box Them Up’, where we had these cardboard boxes that were 7ft high, and anybody at any time could get ‘boxed up’, where this massive box is put over their head, down to their feet, and pushed over. Throughout the season, everyone was being boxed up, but Brian Urlacher had never been boxed up. So, it was my mission to box him up.

“My teammate, Charles ‘Peanut’ Tillman, was in the hallway. I went to the top of the stairs, he called, ‘Brian’, and I boxed him up at the top of the stairs. The entire locker room went crazy. It was right before practice and got our game strategy on for the week. It was a lot of fun.”

Israel Idonije had an embarrassing moment in his acting career

Idonije hasn’t just thrived in the NFL, but in acting too, with the powerhouse playing ‘Sergeant’ on Chicago Fire. However, while he enjoyed his time in the role, his first table read took a disastrous turn.

The 45-year-old chuckled: “I was new to the acting world and I got cast to play on a big show like Chicago Fire. On our first day on set, you do a dry run with all the actors. It just happened in my first very scene, I’m the opening line.

“I’m yelling out to everyone, ‘It’s the Chicago Police’, I was trying to get the attention of the robbers. In the dry run, I yell out, ‘It’s the Chicago Police’ at the top of my lungs, like I’m doing it for the actual film. Everybody looked at me like, ‘What’s wrong with this guy’? The next guy just quickly read his lines, and they went through it really quickly, like a walkthrough; it wasn’t actually like you’re doing it on set. That was one of my first experiences, note to self, read through your lines quickly, not like you’re doing it on set.”
