Roschon Johnson recently headed to the UK, to launch the latest season of the Bears NFL Girls Flag league.
Growing up, the American displayed an incredible work ethic at high school, frequently jumping over the gate to train in the early hours of the morning, before later excelling in college at the Texas Longhorns, where coach Tashard Choice branded him ‘the most gifted’ player he’d ever trained.
With such a fantastic attitude, Johnson was the perfect person to inspire the girls in attendance at the flag league, that with the right mindset, anything is possible.
Since being selected in the fourth round of the 2023 draft, the business graduate has gone from strength to strength on the football field. And following a massive win over the Chicago Bears’ biggest rivals, he’s adamant that fans have some very big things to look forward to.
In an exclusive interview with Sporf, when asked what his favourite memory for his team was, he replied: “I would probably say beating Green Bay Packers at their place — it’s a testament to a new chapter. It was definitely a high point for us as an organisation. It signifies new beginnings and shows we’re going in the right direction.”

There aren’t just big things ahead in the States for the Bears, with the team going above and beyond to build something special in the UK, with the league delivering an opportunity for young girls to fall in love with the game.
Blessed with a desire to give back to the next generation, Johnson revelled in the opportunity to fly over to England and watch the stars of the future showcase their skills.

He beamed: “It’s a pleasure to be out here to see the young ladies interact and just play the sport. I’m excited.
“To be out here and seeing how seriously they take it, really opens my eyes to see that football is taking off globally, not just in America. I’m impressed.”
