Bruno Fernandes turned down £133 million offer

According to reports, Bruno Fernandes turned down an offer worth a staggering £133 million to leave Manchester United and sign for Al Hilal.

In the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, the Portuguese superstar has undoubtedly been the club’s most important player, meaning his departure would rock the team to its core.

After nearly exiting stage left last summer, there were rumours once again that Fernandes could be on the way out. However, it looks like he’s firmly dedicated to growing his legacy at the Stadium of Dreams.

Al Hilal have attempted to secure his services, offering the player a lucrative contract. Last season, Manchester United didn’t reject an initial approach of £100 million, but Fernandes did.

Refusing to give up on bringing the player to the Saudi Pro League, during the World Cup, the club have made another approach. The Sunday Mirror claims that Fernandes was made an offer of a deal worth an astronomical £640,000-a-week, accumulating in £133m over a four-year period.

However, once again the United captain refused. His club let all interested parties know that he wasn’t available for sale ‘at any price’.

After a poor display against Hull in the opening game of the Premier League campaign, Fernandes was back to his best in the 5-2 win against Ipswich.

However, while his performance was tremendous, his post-match rant last week hasn’t been forgotten.

Following his verbal onslaught of his teammates, Fernandes was told to ‘shut his mouth’ by a Manchester United legend.
