Kylian Mbappe suffered an injury during the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final between France and Morocco.
The European giants cruised to the semi-finals, winning 2-0 at the Boston Stadium in Foxborough, USA.
Kylian Mbappe substituted during France vs Morocco
It was a very eventful match for Kylian Mbappe, to say the least. After being dragged over early, the superstar won a spot kick for his team. But in a shocking moment, Mbappe missed the penalty.
However, in a testament to his fighting heart, the superstar redeemed himself in abundance. Showcasing amazing finishing ability, Mbappe scored an absolute screamer.
Ousmane Dembele later bagged a second to book France’s place in the next round of the competition.
But despite playing brilliantly, not everything is positive for the 2x champions, because Mbappe didn’t make it to the final whistle.
In the 76th minute, the icon went down, prompting the medical team to ice his ankle. This resulted in the decision to take the player off. And while he celebrated with his teammates at the end, the situation is still very concerning for French fans.
Currently, it doesn’t appear the issue is too serious, meaning it’s likely the Frenchman will still feature against Spain or Belgium. However, until confirmation of that is official, his supporters will still fear the worst.
‘Lionel Messi is the best in the world’ … Fan favourite backs icon over Kylian Mbappe
In addition to Mbappe, Lionel Messi has looked sensational at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
With the pair both so excellent, it’s only natural for ex-players to compare them.
During an exclusive interview with Sporf, a fan favourite opened up about preferring Messi.
