Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he’s not yet retiring from international football despite his recent time with the Portuguese national side being shrouded in drama.

The 41-year-old walked out after being an unused substitute during his side’s first leg against Norway and subsequently discovering he would not start against Denmark.

Ronaldo has now apologised for the incident, claiming he deserves to face the consequences of his actions.

In a statement, the superstar said: “The Portuguese Football Federation must assess the consequences of my actions and punish me for them. I believe the punishment should not be reduced.

“I have already apologised, but I know that actions have consequences.”

He added: “After my suspension period ends, I will be available, as I always have been, to compete and win with our national team.”
