Manchester United play Hull today, but will Marcus Rashford make an appearance?
Having gained so much momentum throughout the second half of 2025/26, fans of the 3x European Cup winners are hoping that their beloved side can start the latest Premier League season in style.
Marcus Rashford isn’t starting for Manchester United against Hull
Marcus Rashford has endured a very dramatic summer. Not only did he play a role in helping England reach the final of the FIFA World Cup 2026, but he has also had to deal with copious amounts of uncertainty regarding his club future.
Last season, the striker played his football for Barcelona, where he scored 14 goals and won La Liga. Having rejuvenated his career, Rashford wanted to remain at the Camp Nou. However, the Spanish side didn’t want to keep him, sending the player back to his boyhood club.

Things haven’t gotten off to a great start for the player back at his old side. Ruben Amorim claimed the bragging rights over Rashford when AC Milan defeated United 4-2.
However, with that friendly out of the way, the squad, and indeed the natural-born goal-scorer in question, is now fully focused on performing when it counts.
Rashford won’t start against Hull today. But he could make an appearance off the bench.
Why Marcus Rashford has received a pay rise
While Rashford didn’t want to return to United, there is one major benefit for him.
The boost to his bank balance will have undoubtedly softened the blow of not staying in La Liga.
This is why United have given Rashford a pay rise.
