Arsenal play Coventry City today, but will Viktor Gyokeres make an appearance?
Today, ‘The Gunners’ will start their journey towards retaining their Premier League title when they host ‘The Sky Blues’ at the Emirates.
Viktor Gyokeres won’t start for Arsenal against Coventry City
Viktor Gyokeres is currently pushing to leave Arsenal, with the player offering his services to Barcelona.
Reports claim that the Swede is in daily exit conversations, with his time in London potentially coming to an end.
Despite performing well for Arsenal last campaign, scoring 21 goals, according to Spanish outlet, Cope, he ‘wants to leave’, with his agent currently in conversation with Barca’s Sporting Director Deco, who supposedly has mixed opinions on bringing in the forward.
WOW: Wilfried Bony reveals the reason Arsene Wenger didn’t sign him for Arsenal
Despite his impressive displays last season, Mikel Arteta seemingly prefers utilising Kai Havertz, with the German scoring many an integral goal, including in the Champions League final against PSG.
On Sunday, Arsenal played in a Community Shield showdown against Manchester City, in which Havertz found the back of the net once again, in a 3-0 victory for his side.
Gyokeres didn’t start the match, with the 28-year-old only coming on in the 74th minute.
A similar theme is expected today, with reports claiming that the talented athlete will begin the game against Coventry on the bench.
Does Victor Osimhen want to sign for Arsenal?
Things would get a lot worse at the Emirates for Gyokeres if Victor Osimhen joined his club.
The Nigerian would likely make a massive splash for the team.
However, none of that matters if he doesn’t want to play there.
With that in mind, Osimhen has revealed whether he wants to sign for Arsenal.
