While John Rooney may not have reached the dizzying heights of his brother Wayne, being able to build a career of football at any level is impressive in its own right.
Now 29, John has spent time with New York Red Bulls, Chester, and Wrexham. He’s now currently plying his trade with conference side, Stockport County.
During his side’s FA Cup first round match at Rochdale on Saturday, the midfielder stole a page right out of his big brother’s playbook, winning the ball before pinging one over the backtracking keeper from his own half.

Rooney’s effort paved the way to a 2-1 victory for the Hatters, who have Notts County to face next on Wednesday night.
The similarities between John’s effort to that of Wayne’s for DC United against Orlando are uncanny.
