Jose Mourinho is up to his old tricks with social media dig

Jose Mourinho is back to entertain the masses on social media after an amusing dig at referee Antonio Rapuano.

Many fans were doubtful that the Portuguese boss would be able to function at the elite level again when it was announced he’d be returning to Italian football with Roma – more than a decade after he won the treble with Inter Milan.

Alas, the 58-year-old seems to be proving the masses wrong thus far with a strong start to the campaign that has seen him win seven out of eight games with the club.

On Thursday night they were back in action at home to Udinese and while they had to ride their luck at times, they held on to capture a 1-0 win and move back into Serie A’s top four.

Mourinho doubles down

Unfortunately, the game wasn’t without controversy after Lorenzo Pellegrini was given a second yellow card in injury time to ensure the hosts ended proceedings with ten men. Mourinho clearly wasn’t happy after the fact, noting in an interview that the club would be appealing the decision, and he reiterated his feelings in the following Instagram post.

“To play after a defeat is never easy, and to win again is a great feeling, even if some guy decided to be the protagonist”

As much as he may be frustrated with this, he can’t afford to take his eyes off the ball in what is turning out to be a thrilling title race in Italy’s top tier.

The next mission statement is a pretty big one too as Roma prepares to visit rivals, Lazio, on Sunday night.
