Julian Nagelsmann receives huge backlash after Deniz Undav scores two World Cup goals for Germany against Ivory Coast

Fans have responded negatively to Julian Nagelsmann after Deniz Undav scored two brilliant goals for Germany in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The European powerhouse defeated Ivory Coast 2-1 at the BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.

Julian Nagelsmann slammed for not starting Deniz Undav

Deniz Undav made a massive splash for Germany this evening. However, the match didn’t start off brilliantly, as the gifted player was left on the bench.

In the 60th minute, Julian Nagelsmann gave him the opportunity to set foot on the field. And it didn’t take the natural-born finisher long to make an impact.

Eight minutes after waltzing onto the pitch, Undav leapt onto a cross, smashing the ball into the back of the net to level the score. And if that wasn’t enough, in stoppage time, the talented athlete bagged another goal to secure a massive three points for his country.

While some would argue that the manager brought the superstar on at the exact right time, others are furious that he’s not starting, with a plethora of fans taking to social media to fire shots at the gaffer.

One said: “When even the fans in the stadium are shouting Undav’s name you know you have failed as a manager. Leaving Germany’s most in-form attacker on the bench because of your favouritism. Nagelsmann has shown again that he’s nothing but an amateur.”

While a second wrote: “Nagelsmann’s job has once again been saved by Deniz Undav. Nagelsmann doesn’t deserve it, but us Germany fans and especially Undav absolutely do. We knew from the start he’s the best.”
