Khabib Nurmagomedov watched in horror as his cousin was rendered brutally unconscious by Song Yadong.

Umar Nurmagomedov fell short in devastating fashion at UFC Shanghai inside the Shanghai Oriental Sports Centre in China.

With the weight of the world on his shoulders, in front of his home fans, Song Yadong pulled off a shocking upset to defeat his opponent in front of his legendary cousin, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In the opening round, the Russian looked the more well-rounded operator, controlling the action with his superior grappling while simultaneously mixing in impressive strikes.

However, in the second segment, a shot landed that no one saw coming, especially not Nurmagomedov. Yadong connected with a thunderous punch that knocked his rival out cold.

The Chinese warrior followed up with ground and pound for good measure, prompting the referee to wave off the contest.

Khabib, who was watching from cageside, was left nothing short of devastated. However, he had to put his feelings aside to try to stop Usman Nurmagomedov from getting into the cage.
