Man United flattered to deceive in their game against Leicester City, and to make matters worse, an argument between Darren Fletcher and a fan exploded in the stands.
On Saturday, the Red Devils hosted Brendan Rodgers’s side at Old Trafford, and supporters hoped for a big performance. However, Ralf Rangnick‘s men failed to rise to the occasion and only just escaped with a draw.
Notably, Marcus Rashford, who was expected to start in the absence of both Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo, didn’t feature in the match at all. Rangnick opted for Anthony Elanga to start up front, but he failed to deliver.

After a torrid first half, Scott McTominay produced a howler of a challenge that came close to resulting in his dismissal from the game.
Matters then escalated when United fell behind in the 66th minute. Despite getting a hand to it, David de Gea couldn’t prevent Kelechi Iheanacho’s bullet header from hitting the back of the net. However, it didn’t take the home side long to find their way back into the game. Fred equalised, firing the ball into the roof of the net.
Despite the leveller, United could not kick on. It was the away side who took the initiative.
Eventually, they found the breakthrough. James Maddison produced a peach of a shot to seemingly put his side back into the ascendency. But due to a foul on Raphael Varane, VAR disallowed the goal. The game finished 1-1, leaving the Old Trafford supporters feeling hollow and empty.
Matters on the pitch did not make for good reading, and neither did an incident off the pitch.
Darren Fletcher rows with Man United fan
With the chance of a place in the Champions League dwindling, it’s no surprise that the atmosphere around the Theatre of Dreams was incredibly downbeat. Red Devils fans are furious at the club’s performances – and one supporter let club staff know exactly what he thought.
As per the Manchester Evening News, the hooded fan in the South Stand reached the end of his tether after Leicester opened the scoring. He rose to his feet and unleashed his fury at the United dugout. This tipped Darren Fletcher over the edge, and the pair exchanged furious verbals.
It was later reported that stewards escorted the United enthusiast out of the stadium.
