Martyn Ford reveals his first thought when he saw Iranian Hulk in real life

The fight between Martyn Ford and the Iranian Hulk is one month away. The Brit has revealed what he thought the first time he saw his foe in person.

On April 30, two of the world’s most physically imposing men are scheduled to battle it out at the O2 Arena. The pair of weightlifters have created a colossal amount of hype for their fight due to their heated back-and-forth exchanges. So when they finally get the opportunity to put their hands on each other at the top of a card that features footballers Patrice Evra and Jamie O’Hara, the fans will definitely be watching.

But despite the media buzz this match-up is generating, fans already have a strong inkling about which man will have his hand raised.

Why combat sports enthusiasts think Martyn Ford will splatter The Iranian Hulk

Although the Iranian Hulk is a terrifying man, it looks like he’s about to go swimming in the Atlantic without his armbands. After their startling face-off earlier this month, the 30-year-old looks way out of his depth.

The pair squared off in Dubai, and the tensions escalated past the point of repair. Ford unleashed a thunderous push which sent his rival flying towards the concrete. A collapsed Hulk bravely fathomed the courage to get back to his feet and unsurprisingly wanted revenge.

They went toe-to-toe once more, and this time Hulk went for the attack. He powered forward in an attempt to put his opponent on the floor. But his 6 ft 7 nemesis flung him aside easily, leaving the Iranian on the deck for the second time in as many minutes.

Granted, when they lay it all on the line at The Millennium Dome, they’re having a boxing match, not a street fight. But regardless, fans are scared that the emasculating events are just foreshadowing the massacre to come.

However, if the 390-pound man looked anything like he did in photos, perhaps he’d have a better chance.

Martyn Ford reveals his opinion on The Iranian Hulk after seeing him in person

Like a considerable proportion of the Iranian’s followers, the British powerlifter was deceived by his adversary’s Instagram photos. In an interview with the Daily Star, he revealed how shocked he was when he saw the Hulk in person.

He said: “He was not what I expected. I think he’s just fooled the world with photoshop if I’m honest. Seeing him in real life is not as impressive as seeing him in pictures. So disheartening, I think, is the word. He was tiny.

“He didn’t look anything like he had made out. That was the first time I’d seen him in real-life. He was big, probably bigger than 18 stone, but he wasn’t scary big.

“He just felt like a big kid that didn’t really train if I’m being honest. Hulk was supposed to be twice my size.”

Ford expected a mouth-watering collision with a man of similar stature to himself. But what he’s ended up with is an almost ‘David vs Goliath’ style fight.

However, it’s never wise to underestimate an opponent. So regardless of how big a favourite the Brit is, he needs to keep his eye on the ball, because in boxing, you never quite know what’s going to happen.
