Jorge Masvidal has revealed he was thrown out of American Top Team for trying to assault Colby Covington.
For many years Masvidal and Covington were training partners and even friends. The pair helped one another to rise up through the ranks of UFC with both eventually winning a belt – the interim welterweight title for Colby and the BMF belt for ‘Gamebred’.
However, ever since Covington kickstarted his “MAGA” persona, things have become quite tense between the two.
‘Chaos’ hasn’t been afraid to take shots at Jorge Masvidal, and for those of you who remember him handing Leon Edwards a three-piece & a soda backstage, you’ll know Masvidal doesn’t take too kindly to trash talk.
Speaking to @arielhelwani, @GamebredFighter revealed that an altercation with Colby Covington led to them both being "kicked out" of ATT.

As per Masvidal in a recent interview with ESPN, things got so personal that they actually had an altercation at the ATT gym they both trained at.
“Colby’s that one person and I always say this, when I see him, it is a free pay-per-view right there. He knows that and that’s why he used to make videos going ‘this guy’s so unprofessional and he tried to fight me on the street.’ I got kicked out of the gym for trying to assault him one time,” Masvidal said.
“I used to go to spots that he would frequent a lot and got the police called on me and things like that. I know a lot of people think, man you’re an idiot, you’re a professional fighter why would you do that. Because I f*****g feel like it and nobody tells me what to do. It is more loyalty to me. You can’t do something wrong to someone I love, it just isn’t going to happen.”
With both of them being top five welterweights, a future meeting almost seems inevitable.
