If you’re a fan of Rick and Morty and Liverpool, then Mo Salah has a surprise in store for you. The Liverpool legend has teamed up with Adidas to give the world an unbelievable advertisement.
Throughout his career, the Egyptian has cemented himself as one of the greatest players of our generation. Over the past five years, Salah has left Anfield in awe with his remarkable speed and sublime eye for goal. In total, the forward has bagged a whopping 118 goals across all competitions. In addition, his stunning performances have helped Liverpool win a sixth Champions League and their first-ever Premier League title.
With his quality considered, the 30-year-old has become one of the most well-liked players in the city’s long footballing history.
However, his popularity has now seemingly transcended our world and extended into other multiverses far and wide.
Mo Salah meets Rick and Morty for Adidas commercial
No, Salah isn’t enjoying a beer in The Drunken Clam with Peter Griffin or doughnut with Homer Simpson. But he is sharing the field with Morty Smith.
The Adidas advert showcases their new SpeedPortal boots. In the commercial, the famous footballer sits in a pod next to Dutch women’s great Vivianne Miedema. Rick then reveals that he’s sending his apprentice to trial the new boots in the ‘unlicensed international cup’— that’ll have saved the company a few quid.
Morty pops through a portal and finds himself on the pitch alongside the pair of sporting legends. However, despite his inexperience, it doesn’t take the young cartoon character long to get into the game. He pounces onto a Salah header and blasts the ball past an alien goalkeeper.
He arrives back in the lab with the trophy in his arms and a smile on his face.
The teenager says: “You’re right, I love being a football star and I feel so fulfilled.”
But sadly, his grandad quickly grinds a halt to his happiness.
He grabs the boots and says: “No, Mortys with too much self-actualisation upset the dynamic. We have a TV show, Morty, gotta reset.”
To his grandson’s dismay, Rick launches the boots back through the portal to end the 14-year-old’s dreams.
But at least he got to play with Salah.
