Nicolas Jackson signs for Aston Villa for £65 million

Nicolas Jackson has joined Aston Villa for a record-breaking fixed fee of £47.5 million, which could rise to £65 million. This package exceeds the £59.5 million they spent on Johan Maznambi earlier in the transfer window, meaning the club has broken their own record twice in one summer.

The talented player departs Chelsea, with the team thanking him for his time in London.

A statement said: “Nicolas Jackson has completed a permanent transfer from Chelsea to Aston Villa.

“The Senegal international arrived at Stamford Bridge in June 2023 from Spanish club Villarreal.

“Jackson was part of the Chelsea squads that won the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup trophies. He netted 13 goals during that campaign, including one in the Wroclaw showpiece against Real Betis.

“The 25-year-old featured for the Blues under Xabi Alonso in pre-season, but now heads to Villa Park and brings an end to his time at Stamford Bridge.

“We thank Nico for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him well for the future.”

Ollie Watkins apologised for one thing to Aston Villa teammates

Jackson has joined Villa to replace Ollie Watkins, who has agreed a deal with Al-Hilal.

The Englishman played a pivotal role in forcing through the move.

However, despite being keen to test his skills in the Saudi Pro League, he’s been left with a major regret.

Interestingly, Watkins apologised for one thing to his Aston Villa teammates.
