After Roman Reigns delivered an electrifying promo following a WWE live event in London, the stars seem to be aligning for a match-up between himself and The Rock at WrestleMania 39.
Following his career-best victory against Brock Lesnar on the grandest stage of them all, ‘The Tribal Chief’ wants the biggest possible challenges. And there are perhaps none more significant than a collision with his cousin. The bout between the old face of the company and the new, would undoubtedly make for a must-see main event.
With that considered, WWE have seemingly already started turning the wheels on making the titanic battle a reality. During an episode of ‘Young Rock‘, the star is enjoying watching the wrestling with his family. Then suddenly, he’s blindsided by a young Joe Anoa’i (Reigns), who jumps on his back and asks the WWE star to wrestle.

Roman Reigns sends message to The Rock
Throughout his time in WWE, The Rock cemented himself as one of the greatest of all time. His explosive performances and colourful personality allowed him to transcend the sport and become a pop-cultural icon. Consequently, he’s had the opportunity to explore opportunities outside of the company.
Dwayne Johnson has become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars and doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon. Therefore, the window to make a match with his cousin is slim. However, after Reigns’ message, perhaps he’ll take notice.
On April 29, after beating Drew McIntyre, the 36-year-old addressed the crowd and delivered a heartfelt thanks.
He said: “Y’all know how to make your Tribal Chief feel special. It goes without saying, but it’s been too long [since I visited London]. When you get into the groove, and doing these tours, sometimes one can forget how much energy ya’ll bring to the arena. I know one thing – Paris [location of next show] has its work cut out, ya’ll were awesome tonight.
However, he failed to make it the whole way through the speech before somebody shouted about The Rock.
Reigns replied: “Yeah, The Rock can get it too.”
The ‘Brahma Bull’ never turns down a challenge. Fans will hope that the all-time great will triumphantly return for one last dance.
