Sol Campbell is confident he knows what’s going to happen in the Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal.
Tonight, the two European powerhouses collide at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary, in a battle to claim the greatest prize in all of club football.
Sol Campbell predicts Arsenal will defeat PSG in Champions League final
In 2006, Sol Campbell hit the back of the net in Arsenal’s Champions League final against Barcelona at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris, France.
Alas, his side eventually succumbed to a 2-1 defeat and have had to wait until tonight for another chance at the throne.
Going into the match with PSG this evening, ‘The Gunners’ are undoubtedly the underdogs. However, one of their former stars thinks an upset is on the cards.
Campbell, who’s just taken over a mural with street artist, NorthBanksy, at Holloway Road, North London – changing Mikel Arteta’s famous “Make it Happen” slogan to “Made it Happen, to show his support to the lads, hasn’t shied away from his thoughts on the game.
As per Google Pixel, Campbell explained: “The greatness in this team is there already. Arteta has built an incredible side, with great depth that’s solid in all positions, so they can go on [to achieve more]. They have the capacity and mental strength to win the Champions League Final.
“I’m predicting a 3-2 win for Arsenal. You always need that bit of luck, and I think we’ll do it. I hope they go on to win multiple Premier Leagues and get to another Champions League Final…These players are creating their own legacy. I want Arsenal to be at the top regularly – it’s about time.”
Former Champions League winner backs Arsenal to beat PSG
Campbell isn’t the only retired football player giving Arsenal a serious chance of doing a number on PSG.
A former winner of the competition is very confident in what the London side is capable of.
