While the event is yet to be confirmed, fans are clamouring for a darts Royal Rumble, with the idea of Stephen Bunting walking out to the oche with Titanium blasting through the speakers, being enough to send any arena in Europe into raptures.

The former BDO world champion would jump at the chance to take part in the competition if it comes to fruition.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, via online betting, he explained: “I’d approve of anything that’s a bit different. Obviously, the Grand Prix is a little bit different with double off. Everyone seems to love that event because it’s unique. So, I think a Royal Rumble, where you come in one at a time, where the winner stays on would be a great addition to our calendar. The only problem is the calendar is so busy; where do you put it? I’d leave that headache to the PDC, but if it comes about, I’d love to be part of it.”

On February 4, 2024, Bunting triumphed over Michael van Gerwen 11-7 to win the Masters in a performance that changed his life forever. And according to the man himself, all he really needed was that all-important self-belief.

The popular player enthused: “I think the key was the confidence I was riding on. I’d had match darts saved against Ross Smith in the first round, so you look at the event differently then, you know you could’ve been out, so you relax. I beat Peter Wright and Nathan Aspinall as well. I had a fantastic run. Going into the final, I didn’t think about Michael or what he was doing; I was thinking more about my game, trying to finish every leg under 15 darts and getting to the double before him, and that was the most important thing.”
