EXCLUSIVE: Phil Taylor has told Luke Littler that there’s one massive mistake he can’t afford to make.

On September 30, 20 lucky hopefuls will grace the stage at the Manchester Central Convention Centre as part of the ‘Beat Luke Littler’ Netflix event.

While overcoming ‘The Nuke’ is an extremely difficult mountain to climb, anyone who can topple the World Darts Champion over one leg, will emerge with a monstrous prize of £501,000.

Phil Taylor tells Luke Littler he needs to practice

Luke Littler is undeniably a darting phenom, with the superstar already having won the third-most major titles in the history of the sport.

However, despite his achievements, he’s still a long way from eclipsing the great Phil Taylor, who has given the 19-year-old some words of wisdom.

In an exclusive interview with Sporf, the 16x world champion explained: “Whatever he’s doing, it’s working well, but if I were Luke, I would put the work in. There’s an old saying that hard work will beat talent if talent doesn’t work hard. So, that’s the thing, it will catch up on you.”

While the contestants attempting to topple the icon have an almighty task ahead, Taylor believes that if they prepare accordingly, then fans around the world could witness a monumental upset.

When asked to give advice to the players, the legend said: “Make sure that you practice, the main thing for me when I was at my best, if I hadn’t put the effort in, I would be a bit nervous, because I knew I wasn’t at 100%. But once you practice properly, and you dedicate yourself, when you practice, think you’re playing Luke, and that’s how you’ll do it. Make sure to practice, get ready, and go out and do it.”
