Thomas Tuchel is set to mix things up for England in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
‘The Three Lions’ will play DR Congo on Wednesday evening in the Round of 32 at Atlanta Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

If England can successfully overcome their African opponents, then things will be a little bit different in the last 16, where they will likely have to battle it out with Mexico.
The location of the fixture is at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico, which is at an altitude of 7,300ft (2,240 metres). With this in mind, should his team make it to this stage, Thomas Tuchel will change his squad’s usual routine.
Back in 1986, England suffered heartbreak in the very same venue, when they were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the World Cup thanks to a handball from Argentina’s Diego Maradona.
This time around, Tuchel wants his team to emerge from the stadium with a positive memory.

The game would take place on Sunday evening in Mexico, and the early hours of Monday morning in the UK. And the English players would travel on the Friday, which is a day earlier than normal.
The day prior to the game, the squad would adapt to the altitude by training in the Mexican capital.
The base that England has made their home in Kansas City has been fitted with hyperbaric chambers. This gives the players an opportunity to breathe pure oxygen to supercharge recovery.
