WWE make deal with Sasha Banks and Naomi for spectacular return

Triple H has been repairing relationships between the WWE and its stars, as Sasha Banks and Naomi appear to be making a return to the company.

The Federation has experienced a whole host of changes in the past few weeks. Vince McMahon retired from his role as CEO amid allegations of misconduct and payments of hush money. His daughter Stephanie then stepped up to this job as Vince’s replacement. Nick Khan also came in as a co-CEO, operating alongside Stephanie McMahon.

Meanwhile, Triple H took over creative duties, signalling a change of direction for the WWE. Levesque’s first pay-per-view event, last weekend’s SummerSlam, was an entertaining success, giving fans hope of positive adjustments in the future.

In addition, the event also featured a Triple H-directed twist, where Becky Lynch turned face to support rival Bianca Belair in staring down returning trio Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky. According to Inside the Ropes, this was purely a Triple H decision – not Vince McMahon’s.

Now, further changes are upcoming in the WWE sphere, with Sasha Banks and Naomi set to return. But why were they in exile in the first place?

Tag Team Champions’ stunning walk-out

Back in May, Banks and Naomi were caught in a creative disagreement with Vince McMahon. Ahead of a Monday night Raw, the pair arrived for the night’s event with the news that they were in the main match.

Per Wrestling Observer, the pair left their tag team belts at the WWE office and walked out during the RAW event, leading to a change in the six-pack challenge match that was headlining that night. Bleacher Report said that WWE scheduled Naomi to win that battle, which would have set up a title shot for her at Hell in a Cell.

Overall, the pair were concerned with the narrative that they were following and felt disrespected as tag team champions. They even had a meeting with Vince McMahon to voice their creative concerns. However, he did not make any changes.

Following this, the federation suspended Banks and Naomi indefinitely, vacating the women’s tag team belts in the process. It seemed that the duo’s careers in the WWE were all but over. Until now, that is. Reports from company insiders suggest that Triple H has reached out to the suspended wrestlers, making plans for a return.

Naomi and Sasha Banks set for WWE return

First reports on a potential comeback came from Wrestling News. They expected Triple H to announce some names that had left the company were returning to action on Monday Night Raw. Unfortunately, this was not the case, although it should still happen soon.

Additionally, on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez suggested a WWE return for Sasha Banks and Naomi was imminent.

“I am not 100 percent confirming this,” said Alvarez, quoted from Wrestling Observer. “But since everybody is asking about it, I do have one source who is saying that ‘Yes, Sasha and Naomi have made a deal to return.’

“So, we’ll know more I’m sure within the next two hours. But I’ll just say I think it’s true. I’m pretty sure. But can’t say a hundred percent.”

Although exact details of their comeback are unconfirmed, rumours do suggest a tag team match could be the perfect announcement. After all, their women’s tag team title is still vacant, so a match to win it back makes a lot of sense.

Who knows what tricks Triple H has up his sleeve for the future?
