Cristiano Ronaldo equals record of most OFFICIAL goals ever

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a 92nd minute goal in Juventus’ 3-1 win over Sassuolo to make him the joint highest scoring player of all time.

The goal that brought level Ronaldo showed the goal scoring instinct and hard work of the Portuguese superstar. Even with the game seemingly won he still wanted to go forward and get another goal.

The late goal brought him level with Czech Republic legend Josef Bican on 759 goals.

The record set by Biscan had stood for over 65 five years. But now it looks as if Ronaldo is set to become the highest scoring player of all time.

Ronaldo’s goals have been split across four clubs and his country.

Cristiano Ronaldo started his career in Portugal and the first five of his goals came at Sporting Lisbon.

In a shock move to Juventus, aged 33 years old, some people believed that Ronaldo would start to decline but he has proved the doubters wrong scoring 84 goals since 2018.

Throughout his career he has been Portugal’s main man, even as a teenager he was massively important to the team. Now the captain and leader of the National team he has scored 102 goals in 170 caps and won a European Championship.

As a youngster Ronaldo was a mercurial winger who would tear defences apart with his silky skills. Today he is one of the most complete players on the planet and a ruthless goal scorer.

Some are disputing whether Ronaldo has broken the record similarly to Messi’s one club record last week. However, record or not, to score 759 goals in a career is a magnificent feat.

There is no debating that Ronaldo is firmly in the GOAT debate and this record is just another example of how he is one of best players the game has ever seen.
