Erling Haaland pushed Elliot Anderson
Going into the fixture, despite Norway having just beaten Brazil, England still entered as the favourites, with most expecting ‘The Three Lions’ to end the Nordic country’s fairytale story in style.
However, things didn’t start the way Thomas Tuchel’s side would’ve expected. In a moment of madness, Andreas Schjelderup scored a goal that left Harry Kane furious.
The shocking turn of events flipped a switch for England, with Jude Bellingham quickly equalling the score.
But while the first half ended well for the 1966 World Cup winners, the second segment nearly started in disaster. From a corner, Norway managed to pull off a shot, which Jordan Pickford saved. Alas, the goalkeeper sent the ball right to the feet of Torbjørn Heggem, who fired his effort into the back of the net.
However, the Norwegian celebrations didn’t last long. VAR quickly ruled that Erling Haaland had pushed Elliot Anderson to the ground, forcing the referee to disallow the goal.
