Norway took the lead against England in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The two teams are currently battling it out in the quarter-finals at Miami Stadium in Miami, Florida, USA.
Harry Kane was livid as Norway took the lead
Tonight, England entered the match as marginal favourites, with ‘The Three Lions’ expected to battle past a resilient Norway to reach the semi-finals. However, the match didn’t start brilliantly for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
In the 36th minute, Andreas Schjelderup cut inside and smashed the ball, sending it spiralling into the back of the net. However, not everyone is convinced he was actually trying to score, with some convinced the Norwegian was actually attempting to cross the ball.
On the ITV broadcast, Lee Dixon said: “If he’s aiming for the top corner, he’s the best player in the world.”
Of course, fans took to social media to voice their opinions, with one saying: “Total fluke.”
Regardless, the goal stood, much to the dismay of Harry Kane, who was seemingly fouled in the lead-up. The English striker complained, but the referee dismissed his claims.
Luckily, it didn’t take long for Jude Bellingham to make it all square.
