Filip Hrgovic will fight Frank Sanchez next

In front of a packed house at the O2 Arena in London, UK, Filip Hrgovic picked up the IBF heavyweight world championship after a thrilling clash with Moses Itauma.

Going into the battle, the Brit was considered a massive favourite. After all, up to this point in his career, he’d looked almost invincible, with the 21-year-old showcasing lightning speed and breathtaking power.

However, while he was able to showcase his talent in abundance, it wasn’t enough to overcome the man who is quite possibly one of the toughest competitors on the planet.

Punch after punch bounced off the warrior’s jaw, leaving Itauma wondering what on Earth he had to do to get rid of his opponent.

In the eighth, the prospect put his all into finishing the fight, but couldn’t find the all-important blow, gassing himself out, allowing Hrgovic to take advantage.

The Croatian unleashed a barrage of punches, nearly taking his rival off his feet, resulting in the referee jumping in.

Now, with the world championship belt around his waist, he has another huge task ahead, in the form of the man who took a deal to let the bout happen in the first place.

Following the conclusion of the contest, during an interview with DAZN, Frank Warren explained: “The winner of this fight has to fight Frank Sanchez, who stepped aside, so that will be his next fight.”

Filip Hrgovic calls out Daniel Dubois and Agit Kabayel

While it seems the IBF’s ruling is pretty clear, Hrgovic still has two other men he’d rather face than the Cuban.

During his post-fight interview, Hrgovic exclaimed: “Come on, what, Frank Sanchez? I want a unification; I want these guys right here, Daniel Dubois, if he wins his next fight. And I want Agit Kabayel in a unification. Frank Sanchez will wait. He’ll get another step aside; he’ll make money without fighting, and everyone will be happy.”
