EXCLUSIVE: Nani slapped Gerard Pique during a heated moment on a plane, which left Sir Bobby Charlton stunned.
What started as a practical joke ended in all-out chaos when tensions escalated between the Manchester United icons
Anderson witnessed the clash between Gerard Pique and Nani
During his time at Manchester United, Anderson made many a fond memory, including winning the Champions League and playing Cesc Fabregas off the park against Arsenal. However, having a front-row seat to the near-brawl between Gerard Pique and Nani is right up there with the best of them.
In an exclusive interview with Sporf, via BetVictor Online Casino, the Brazilian reminisced: “That is crazy. At that time, we had a good connection in the team, with all the boys joking 24/7. Carlos Tevez, Patrice Evra, Ji-Sung Park, me, Rio Ferdinand, John O’Shea, Darren Fletcher, when we were arriving in Manchester, we all started throwing pillows at each other.
“Nani was quiet, watching a movie and pillows came towards him and hit him on his head. He said, ‘Hey, stop’. People carried on, and another one hit him in the head, and Nani looked again and said, ‘Stop’. Gerard Pique threw another pillow; it hit Nani on the head, and everyone started to laugh, even Sir Bobby Charlton laughed because he was on the plane.
“When the plane landed, Nani turned to Pique, and said, ‘Hey, I said stop’, and slapped Pique in the face. Bobby said, ‘Whoa’. In my head, Pique go fight against Nani, but he turned and walked away. Everyone laughed. I said to Pique, ‘Look at your size, you’re a big man; why don’t you go against Nani’? But Nani is a strong guy too.”
Anderson was ambushed at 4 AM by Cristiano Ronaldo during their Manchester United days
During his time in the Premier League, Anderson enjoyed a stint living with Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani.
And of course, staying under the same roof as ‘CR7’ had its moments.
On a particularly eventful evening, following a Manchester United match, Ronaldo burst into Anderson’s room with a hilarious idea.
