Noussair Mazraoui defends fans at Manchester United vs Leeds

In the latest chapter of their blockbuster rivalry, Manchester United and Leeds United went to battle in a pre-season friendly for the Boyle Sports Cup at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland.

It didn’t take long for the game to ignite, with the 3x European Cup winners delivering a special moment. In a piece of brilliance, Bryan Mbeumo produced a brilliant assist for Joshua Zirkzee to give Manchester United the lead.

However, it didn’t take long for Leeds to hit back, with Brenden Aaronson finding the equaliser before half-time.

WOW: Why Marcus Rashford has received a major salary increase at Manchester United

In the second segment, neither team managed to hit the back of the net, with the fans in attendance creating the most drama. Several ran onto the pitch, in an attempt to take selfies with various Manchester United players, prompting the referee to end the match a few seconds short of the 90-minute mark. To make matters worse, when the penalty shootout started, more supporters invaded the pitch, prompting an announcement over the tannoy, warning that further delays would result in the game being abandoned.

However, Noussair Mazraoui wasn’t remotely concerned.

As per The Irish Independent, he said: “You don’t want it, but it shows the big love they have for this club.

“We’re enjoying it, and the atmosphere today was amazing from the fans…

“Where we are, our base camp, it’s full 24/7, 11 o’clock, 12 o’clock, they’re still standing in front of the hotel, so that shows.”

Marcus Rashford’s Manchester United future receives major boost

During United’s time in Ireland, attention was focused firmly on Marcus Rashford.

Despite scoring 14 goals for Barcelona last season, the Spanish giants chose not to keep him at the Camp Nou. Consequently, the striker has had to begrudgingly return to his boyhood club.

Many fans of the Premier League side didn’t want the talented player back.

However, Rashford has just received a huge boost to his Manchester United future.
