Wayne Rooney teams up with Mark Goldbridge for new show

Disney+ has officially secured the rights for The Overlap’s podcast content in a deal worth millions. The streaming service will broadcast 40 episodes of Stick to Football, which will feature the regular line-up of Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Roy Keane.

In addition, the company will also produce 50 episodes of a brand-new programme, entitled Stick to United, which will be hosted by Wayne Rooney and YouTube sensation Mark Goldbridge.

WOW: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a fascinating conversation with a Manchester United legend right before he scored 1999 Champions League winner

While the content creator has his fans, many Manchester United supporters are extremely frustrated that a legend of the sport would choose to go in this direction.

Consequently, an army of enraged football enthusiasts has headed to social media to voice their opinions.

One said: “Goldbridge? He’s a Nottingham Forest fan who spouts nonsense.” Another added: “State of this. Wrong in every way. I expected more from Wayne Rooney.”

A third wrote: “With Rooney on board I was getting excited, but then I saw Mark Goldbridge’s name. I would rather watch grass grow. He is not a United fan. He is anti-Manchester United in every way. Shame on you, Wayne Rooney.”

A fourth fumed: “There’s no way I’m subscribing to listen to Goldbridge. Surely Rooney can do better than this.”

A fifth commented: “Anything to do with this virus, Goldbridge is a resounding no from any self-respecting Manchester United fan.”
