On May 15, Emanuel Odiase stepped up to the plate against Nick Webb. In front of a packed house at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany.

While, on paper, the Englishman represented by far his toughest test, Odiase made a mockery of the idea that Webb could challenge him, destroying the respected fighter inside just two rounds.

Now, the 27-year-old is ready to make the jump to world level when he goes toe-to-toe with Mike Perez on November 27 at the Europa-Park Arena in Rust, Germany.

The Irish-Cuban, renowned for his flashy skills, is a former world title challenger, best known for his close contest against Mairis Briedis back in 2017.

While he’s yet to scale the boxing mountain, Perez is highly rated among combat sports purists, with many considering him right up there with the best fighters to have never claimed a world title.

With that in mind, the 41-year-old simply can’t afford to lose, meaning Odiase will have to be better than ever if he wants to pick up the biggest victory of his career.

While Perez is a truly gifted operator, Odiase believes he can make a major statement when the pair meet in the ring.

The 12-0 (10 KOs) fighter said: “Winning the European title in front of my home fans in Mannheim was a dream, but it was only the first step. Mike Perez has fought for a world title and shared the ring with Alexander Povetkin, and that’s exactly the kind of test I need. I don’t just want to beat him; I want to do it in a way nobody’s done before. Every fight now is about one thing: proving I’m ready for the world level.”
