Lamine Yamal could be the only man capable of breaking through the French defense and putting the favourites out of the FIFA World Cup 2026, according to a former Premier League star.
While yet to perform at their brilliant best, Luis de la Fuente’s side is still considered one of the teams to beat.
Micah Richards believes Lamine Yamal could be France’s kryptonite
Micah Richards believes France and Argentina are the most likely countries to win the FIFA World Cup 2026. However, with Lamine Yamal in their side, the former England international has claimed Spain could find a way to come out on top.
During an episode of The Rest is Football, he explained: “Areas where you can get to France are on that transition. I know they’ve got Adrien Rabiot and Aurélien Tchouaméni who sit, but their full-backs really come on, and if Spain keep the ball, and that front four of France really attack and you get the ball to Lamine Yamal, he can do something on that transition, so I wouldn’t be ruling out Spain even though we’ve not seen them at their absolute best right now.”
