Luke Humphries defeated Gerwyn Price 6-4 in World Grand Prix Darts 2026 final

Tonight, Gerwyn Price looked all but guaranteed to claim the World Grand Prix Darts title, with ‘The Iceman’ starting at a lightning pace, leaving Luke Humphries fighting for his life.

Price was nothing short of excellent, firing in arrows akin to the ones he threw to win the World Championship back in 2021.

After accumulating a 3-0 lead, Price had the upper hand, with Humphries appearing dishevelled and seemingly out of the contest.

However, in a testament to his fighting heart, the legend refused to give in, battling back in a performance that sent shockwaves through the world of darts.

Slowly but surely, the Englishman managed to start finding those all-important doubles, rendering Price nothing short of stunned.

After drawing level, Humphries eventually took the lead, ultimately taking out double eight to win 6-4 in sets and claim his ninth major.

Luke Humphries says Gerwyn Price played better than him in World Grand Prix Darts 2026 Final

Following his victory, Humphries paid enormous respect to Price, claiming his rival was the better player.

He told Sky Sports: “Gerwyn was amazing for those first three sets, and I’m not just saying this, he’s going to win a major title soon, it’s just written in the stars for him. He can’t keep playing as well as he is and not win.

“He played his part in an amazing final there. I don’t think I was the better player there; he was, but in this game, the real player that deserves to win doesn’t win. He’ll win some big titles; maybe he’ll win the World Championship or something big.”
