Morgan Rogers signing for Chelsea could end another player’s career at Stamford Bridge

Morgan Rogers joining Chelsea could result in another player having to leave, according to one of the club’s former stars.

On Saturday, reports emerged that the talented athlete would leave Aston Villa for a record-breaking fee for the 2x Champions League winners of £117 million.

Joe Cole says Morgan Rogers signing for Chelsea could spell the end for Enzo Fernandez

After playing for England at the FIFA World Cup 2026, Morgan Rogers is expected to now firmly switch his attention to the club game, with the footballer to go through a medical with Chelsea later this week.

The monstrous fee that ‘The Blues’ are reportedly willing to pay for Rogers, exceeds the £107 million they spent on Enzo Fernandez.

WOW: ‘Cole Palmer was extremely rude’… Football icon slams Chelsea star’s behaviour

However, with the Argentine now campaigning to leave the side, Joe Cole is struggling to envision a world where the pair play together at Stamford Bridge.

On an episode of The Rest is Football, he explained: “I’m really happy because he’s such a top player and he’s performed well.

“But I think that means Enzo is probably out the door because you’ve got to balance the books somewhere.

“I think he’ll play off the left and he’s really good friends with Cole Palmer… I think that’s a really good signing.

“I’m not sure where we’re finding the money from, to be honest!”

Alan Shearer says Chelsea need more than just Morgan Rogers

Having finished tenth in the Premier League last season, Chelsea have to make some major adjustments.

However, Alan Shearer believes bringing Rogers in alone isn’t enough.

He responded to Cole: “Rogers is a brilliant talent, but Chelsea still need a centre-forward.”
