What tickets can fans apply for?

In the initial application period, fans can apply for a range of different tickets to attend the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The first is an individual match ticket, which will be in use for every game at the 2022 World Cup. There is also a team-specific group series, which allows fans to watch every game their team plays throughout the tournament.

The third ticket is a four-stadium ticket series. This allows fans to watch the action from four different stadiums in Qatar on subsequent days. Finally, fans can also apply for an accessibility ticket, which provides additional facilities and spaces for disabled people, as part of one of the products from one of the sections listed above.

What do fans need in order to apply?

As per a press release from FIFA, fans applying for tickets from inside Qatar need a Visa payment card. Fans from other countries can use other payment cards.

Fans also require a ‘Hay’ya Card’ – Fan ID – to enter Qatar when the tournament comes around. A Fan ID was also mandatory to enter Russia for the 2018 World Cup.

The FIFA press release also states that fans must follow the latest travel advice and guidance from Qatar’s Public Ministry of Health regarding Covid-19 that is in place when the tournament begins.

When does the World Cup begin?

The 2022 World Cup is scheduled to begin on November 21. It will run until December 18.
