Steven Gerrard was completely perplexed by a decision made by the referee during the Champions League final.
In a surprising first-half, despite entering the match as underdogs, Arsenal came away with a 1-0 lead.
Steven Gerrard stunned as referee makes big Champions League decision
After just five minutes, Kai Havertz scored the goal to put Arsenal in the ascendancy in the Champions League final.
‘The Gunners’ maintained their lead through the opening 45 minutes, and looked dangerous towards the end of the half.
After six additional minutes of stoppage time were ordered, Arsenal began making moves towards attempting to double their lead. After five minutes and 56 seconds had passed, the London club won a corner, which gave the players a boost.
Noticing their enthusiasm, Steven Gerrard said: “I think it’s body language, celebrating when you’ve received a corner, knowing how good you are at corners.”

However, just before the ball could be sent flying into the box, the official made a divisive decision.
Darren Fletcher explained: “They’re not going to have time to take it. He’s blown the half-time whistle before Bukayo Saka can take the corner.”
As boos echoed through the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary, Gerrard added: “That’s madness.”
Of course, fans weren’t happy, with one claiming: “Why give a corner if you’re going to blow the whistle?” Another added: “FIFA needs to address referees calling for half-time and full-time after a corner is given. No discretion. You let the corner play out.”
However, others agreed with the call, with one user writing: “Right decision and no Premier League ref would dare to do that.”
Now, with PSG scoring from the penalty spot to level the score, Arsenal could’ve done with that opportunity.
