The English fighter, who has now solidified her place among the greatest female boxers the sport has ever produced, is gearing up to write the next chapter of her fantastic story on Saturday night.

On May 20, 2023, Chantelle Cameron travelled into enemy territory at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, and pulled off a monumental upset victory to defeat the legendary Katie Taylor.

During the bout, the Brit showcased remarkable skills, but it wasn’t just her talent that got her over the finishing line, but her ability to switch on when she really needed to.

When asked what the key was to beating Taylor during an exclusive interview with Sporf, she replied: “I was gonna say confidence, but I’ll be deadly honest; I didn’t think I was going to win the fight. I think when the bell goes, I go into tunnel vision, and if my mind is on what I’ve got to do, I think I’m unbeatable. I think with my style, hunger and drive, nobody can beat me if I’m on my A-game.”

With Cameron keen to bolster her legacy even further, on August 29 at bp Pulse in Birmingham, UK, she’ll go head-to-head with Mikaela Mayer for the unified super welterweight titles. And it’s fair to say she’s hoping to deliver something truly special for the combat sports community.

The 35-year-old enthused: “I’m going for the win; I just think it’s going to be an absolute war. What excites me every day is that it’s going to be a tough fight. I think it’s a 52%-48% in my favour. I can’t wait. I’ve been waiting for a fight of this magnitude for ages now, and I’ve just got to perform. I definitely think it’s going to be one where fans won’t leave their seats because they can’t afford to miss any rounds.”
