EXCLUSIVE: Tony Yoka has revealed whether a fight with Anthony Joshua could take place at Parc des Princes.
The Frenchman was scheduled to challenge Murat Gassiev on Saturday night at IBA Pro 19, inside the VTB Arena in Moscow, Russia. Alas, a back injury has forced the contender out of the contest, opening the door for Peter Kadiru to grasp the opportunity to compete for the biggest prize in all of sport.
While Yoka will undoubtedly be devastated that the rug has been pulled from beneath his feet, the powerhouse is hoping other big opportunities could be right around the corner.
Tony Yoka would love to fight Anthony Joshua at PSG’s stadium
Having emerged from the 2016 Olympics in Rio with a gold medal, Tony Yoka is a superstar in his homeland, with the football fanatic regularly headlining in the French capital and making acquaintances with PSG players, including Lucas Hernandez, whom he once taught to box.
With this in mind, the 34-year-old would revel in the chance to main event in one of the most iconic football grounds on the planet, with ‘AJ’ being the dream opponent. Alas, Yoka fears that the Brit is too focused on ‘The Gypsy King’ to take on the challenge.

During an exclusive interview with Sporf, the Parisian explained: “I definitely want to headline here. Paris is my hometown, and I have a huge fanbase in France. It would be great [to fight Anthony Joshua]. I think it would be the biggest boxing match ever organised in France, but I don’t think it’s going to happen because Joshua is on the business side of boxing now, and all that matters to him is the fight with Tyson Fury.”
Tony Yoka claims Daniel Dubois ‘Hits like a horse’
While Daniel Dubois is renowned today for his dynamite hands, at one stage, he was just a prospect with a dream. And during an intense session in the gym, Yoka realised just how dangerous ‘Triple D’ was going to be.
The boxer reminisced: “I remember one little story. In 2015, right before I became amateur world champion, I went to Sheffield to spar with Frazer Clarke and Anthony Joshua. I was sparring with them, and then they put this kid in the ring with me and said, ‘He’s going to give you a few rounds’. This kid was the only one who gave me a black eye. I was like, ‘Who is he’? It was Daniel Dubois. He was only 16 or 17, but he hit like a horse.”
