On Saturday evening, at UFC 330, Islam Makhachev defeated Ian Machado Garry via unanimous decision at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
After cruising through the first round, the 34-year-old made a massive statement by dropping his rival with a terrifying head kick in the second segment.
Showcasing bravery in abundance, Machado Garry battled his way back into the contest, winning the third and giving a good account of himself in the fourth.

However, when the pressure was on, Makhachev exhibited his class, utilising his superior grappling ability to dominate the final round and ultimately retain his belt.
But despite his tremendous performance, Kamaru Usman still believes he has the skills to relieve him of his championship.
On an episode of The Pound 4 Pound Podcast, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ claimed: “There are really good guys coming up that are going to turn into killers. But right now, being honest with you, with all the styles that I see and the MMA mathematics… How it works out, styles make fights, I’m telling you guys, I can get that done.”
