Erling Haaland was substituted during Norway vs England at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
‘The Three Lions’ battled back from behind to win 2-1 at Miami Stadium in Miami, Florida, USA.
Alan Shearer thinks Erling Haaland is injured
Going into this evening’s match-up, England were expected to comfortably defeat Norway. However, the Nordic nation that dispatched of Brazil looked capable of pulling off another historic upset when Andreas Schjelderup scored a goal that left Harry Kane furious.
Luckily, ‘The Three Lions’ wouldn’t give up. Jude Bellingham quickly equalised, with the Real Madrid star reminding the world just how good he is. And the superstar wasn’t done there. In extra time, Bellingham bagged a second goal in an incredible moment for England.
However, that wasn’t the most shocking turn of events during the match. Very surprisingly, Ståle Solbakken made the decision to take off Erling Haaland. And Alan Shearer thinks he knows why.
The legend told BBC Sport: “It has to be an injury. There is no way you take Haaland off if you are in desperate need of a goal.”
Paul Robinson added: “It must be fatigue for Erling Haaland because we have not seen him go down with an injury, and it’s not a decision the manager would want to make.”
Fans are now waiting for official confirmation from the Norway manager on why he made the call to take off one of the best players on the planet.
