Aaron McKenna suffered a terrible cut during world title win

Having started boxing at the age of 6, nothing was going to stop Aaron McKenna from achieving his lifelong dream.

From the first bell, the Irishman began to unleash his laser-like jab and classy hooks. However, with his desire to scale the combat sports mountain burning equally bright, Etinosa Oliha was going to stop at nothing to try and claim the IBF middleweight title for himself.

The Italian launched ferocious punches in an attempt to break his rival down. However, as the rounds rolled by, McKenna began to assert his dominance, building a healthy lead on the cards.

However, in the 11th round things nearly went wrong, when a head clash left the favourite’s face covered in blood. However, in a testament to his fighting heart and his composure, McKenna didn’t let the situation get to him. Instead, the phenom boxed smart, battling through the adversity to make it to the final bell, where he was promptly awarded the unanimous decision victory.

Aaron McKenna makes bold claim on what’s next

While McKenna was delighted with his accomplishment, it didn’t take long for attention to switch to the future.

Having picked up one world title, it looks like the boxer is only scratching the surface of what’s possible.

In the aftermath of his victory, McKenna revealed what he wants to do next.
