Dana White's top boxing prospect dropped inside the first round of dramatic fight

Dana White was given a scare when one of his best boxers was dropped to the canvas.

The co-main event at Zuffa Boxing 10 inside the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, certainly delivered in abundance.

Tonight, fans in their thousands have waltzed into Ireland’s biggest arena to watch the vacant IBF world middleweight world championship showdown between Aaron McKenna and Etinosa Oliha.

However, while the main course is scrumptious, the starter certainly wasn’t lacking in flavour.

Callum Walsh, who has an extremely close relationship with Dana White, put his undefeated record on the line against Tyler Denny.

Prior to the fight, during an interview with Bloody Elbow, he opened up about his relationship with the businessman, claiming: “I wouldn’t be standing here if it weren’t for Dana. I give credit to Tom Loeffler getting behind me and then Dana bringing boxing to UFC Fight Pass. I’m no promoter or anything; I just show up.

“I have to fight and perform, but on the promotional side and everything they have done it all for me. That’s my side of things, but they have done a lot more than I have; they’ve done so much for me, and I’ll forever be grateful.”

With that in mind, Walsh was determined to put on a big performance in front of his mentor. But things took a disastrous turn when Denny dropped him to the canvas inside the very first round.

In a testament to his bravery, the Cork athlete got back to his feet, bit down on his gumshield and scored a stunning knockdown of his own in the second segment, nearly taking his rival out with a monstrous left hook.

Like his opponent, Denny showcased his heart, beating the count and throwing back bombs of his own.

The pair battled it out over the course of ten brutal rounds, with Walsh eventually emerging from the contest with a unanimous decision victory.
