Frazer Clarke scores brutal knockout with massive right hand in explosive comeback victory

Frazer Clarke landed a huge punch to score a second-round knockout against Lamah Griggs.

The heavyweight returned to action on the undercard of the rematch between Troy Williamson and Callum Simpson at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, UK.

In his previous outing, Frazer Clarke fell short in a spirited effort against Justis Huni on the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov undercard. Therefore, despite receiving plaudits for his performance at Wembley Stadium, with three losses on his record, a big statement tonight was of paramount importance. And luckily, he made his mark in abundance.

While his journeyman opponent certainly wasn’t up to much, having only won three of his 18 bouts, Clarke’s punches still looked extremely punishing.

From the first bell, the Olympic bronze medallist began targeting the body, landing thunderous blows to his rival’s ribs, with one particularly painful shot dropping Griggs to the canvas in the first round.

In a testament to his fighting heart, the underdog made it back to his feet. However, just a round later, the bout reached its end. After bundling his foe into the corner, Clarke unleashed a right hand that heavily knocked Griggs to the ground for a second time.

Once again, the boxer beat the count. However, on this occasion, the referee had seen enough, calling a halt to the action, awarding the favourite the victory.

Clarke will now hope that he can produce a similar display the next time he steps up against a top-class fighter.
