Bruno Guimarães scored moments after Sunderland missed a penalty
Going into tonight, Arsenal were considered massive favourites, with most expecting the London side to emerge from the encounter in the North East with a comfortable victory.
However, in a testament to their resilience, ‘The Black Cats’ battled hard, refusing to let ‘The Gunners’ take hold of the contest.
And early in the second half, they got their reward, earning a penalty. But in a moment in which he really had to step up to the plate, David Raya, denied Enzo Le Fée by producing an excellent save.
Just two minutes later, Bruno Guimarães punished Sunderland in abundance. After receiving a pass on the edge of the box, the gifted player put the ball on his right foot before firing an effort towards goal with remarkable velocity, sending it hurtling past the goalkeeper and into the top corner.
