EXCLUSIVE: Dada 5000 once went head-to-head with five men at once and still came out on top.
The combat sports icon who went viral many years ago for hosting fights in his Miami backyard has now become one of the world’s most passionate promoters, with BKB 60, headlined by Rolando Dy vs Scott McHugh, hitting the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, UK, later tonight.
Dada 5000 dominated a fight against five people at once
If there’s anyone you wouldn’t want to start a problem with, it’s Dada 5000, even if you have him significantly outnumbered.
The popular brawler, who proved his combat prowess in abundance on the streets of Florida, once had to teach a troublesome gang a serious lesson.
In an exclusive interview with Sporf, he reminisced: “I got jumped by five guys. And I walked away how the fight started, walking on my own two feet, and three of them didn’t, because I was technical and precise. I’ve understood the eyes, nose and mouth since I was a little guy; if I can hit those targets, I’m going to defuse the problem.”
Dada 5000’s incredible journey was documented on Netflix’s Dawg Fight, which gave viewers a remarkable insight into the brutal level of battles that were going on back in Florida, with an injury sustained in one of those contests still seared in the American’s mind.
When asked what the most brutal fight he witnessed during filming was, Dada 5000 replied: “It was Chauncy [Adside] vs Mo, and Chauncy hit Mo with a left uppercut, and it cut the bridge of his nose and ripped it right open. You could have taken his nose and peeled it right back. I didn’t know, because when your adrenaline is pumping, it doesn’t really kick in until things slow down, and that’s when the real trauma begins.
“I saw some wild things back then, but we had some great moments, and they put me in a position to be motivated for what the future has in store. This is the next phase of bare-knuckle evolution. We have the resume, history; we’ve done the work, we’ve set a trail ablaze that goes from Miami to the rest of the world. Nobody on the planet does it bigger or better than BKB.”
Dada 5000 reveals whether Nate Diaz and Ryan Garcia will fight in BKB
With BKB growing at a rapid rate, the promotion is attracting interest from the world of boxing and UFC, with legends across the board interested in testing their skills out inside the Trigon.
Dada 5000 enthused: “I can pull out my phone; I’ve got Nate Diaz on speed dial. Here’s the thing, it’s all about timing, and the last time I spoke to Nate was via text a couple of months ago. He is a warrior; he’ll fight anybody, anytime, anyplace. He’s a true competitor; it runs in his blood. He’s cut from the same cloth as his brother Nick Diaz, so bare-knuckle would suit them.
“Ryan Garcia has a great relationship with the BKB management, so it’s only a matter of time.”
