During the tournament, Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham have worked wonders for England.

When asked by the BBC whether ‘The Three Lions’ rely on him and his teammate too much, he conceded that while the country depends upon them, every single player matters.

He explained: “Yes, that’s just football. I don’t know what people expect. I said at the start of the tournament, Argentina rely on Lionel Messi, France rely on Kylian Mbappe and Michael Olise, Spain rely on Yamine Lamal, it’s one of those where the guys who people expect to score, when we score, now it’s like we’re scoring too much, maybe other people should score, it doesn’t completely make sense. I think throughout a tournament, you need moments, match-winners and heroes. As much as people talk about Jude and me, we wouldn’t be in this competition still if it wasn’t for every single player here and the saves Jordan Pickford has made, the blocks the defence has made, the running, the commitment, what the midfielders and wingers are doing, it’s such a team game. It’s so easy in big tournaments to make it about individuals, but without the whole team on the same page, we wouldn’t be where we are now.”
