Aston Villa fans would love to see Nicolas Jackson play against Arsenal, but has he made the cut?
Tonight, ‘The Midlands’ club welcome ‘The Gunners’ to Villa Park in an eagerly anticipated clash.
Nicolas Jackson is playing for Aston Villa against Arsenal
On Friday, Nicolas Jackson officially signed for Aston Villa from Chelsea, with the club paying £65 million to secure the services of the talented striker. The mega-money purchase broke the club’s spending record for the second time in one summer, with the side having already purchased Johan Maznambi earlier in the transfer window.
In the first game of their 2026/27 campaign, ‘The Villans’ suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion. Therefore, it is of paramount importance that the team produces a significantly better performance today in order to boost the morale of not just themselves but the fans as well.
WOW: Will Ezri Konsa play for Arsenal against Aston Villa this evening?
However, getting any sort of result against Arsenal is undeniably an incredibly difficult task. But Villa do have a trick up their sleeve in the form of Jackson, who is officially set to make his debut in front of the home supporters.
The natural-born goal scorer has been named in the starting XI.
Manchester United could lose huge star to Aston Villa
Jackson was most certainly a massive signing for the club, which finished fourth in last season’s Premier League.
However, the team might not be done looking for new signings yet.
Interestingly, Aston Villa could buy a Manchester United star.
