JJ Gabriel, who was expected to become an absolute superstar at Manchester United, is very keen to secure a move.

In an astonishing UEFA Youth League debut last week, the gifted footballer scored a hat-trick, with United fans growing increasingly excited for what the future has in store for the wonderkid.

Now, however, he has sent a formal notice to cancel his registration with the club, with the athlete wanting to become a free agent.

The news has come as an enormous shock to his current side.

It is understood that the 15-year-old has another Premier League team in mind for his next move. Last month, talkSPORT, reported that Chelsea had a keen interest in bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

Will JJ Gabriel stay at Manchester United?

While Gabriel has a desire to chase pastures new, it might not be that simple.

According to talkSPORT, the Premier League giants are confident in overcoming the issue.

In addition, United don’t appear able to de-register the youngster, who has a youth contract lasting until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

Premier League rules state: “During your child’s registration period, their registration may only be cancelled if everyone agrees (the club, player and their parent/carer).

“If the parties don’t agree, then any person involved can also ask the Premier League to provide a binding decision on a termination request.”
